Welcome to the USS Frontier NCC-74799!
The year is 2386...
A decade has passed since the end of the Dominion War. In that time, the Federation has enjoyed an unprecedented era of peace with its neighbors. To many, it would seem the powers of this region have grown tired of war, but to those of us in the know, such a thing would be too good to be true.
In reality, we all know what's really going on... why the Romulans insist on violating the Neutral Zone Border, why the Cardassians continue to send vessels into the Demilitarized Zone, and why Dominion forces in the Gamma Quadrant continue to inch closer and closer to the wormhole with each passing day. This peace, it would seem, is nothing more than a resting period for those hoping to one day strike again... this time, for the win...

In the years since the return of the USS Voyager, Starfleet has been hard at work doing their best to integrate as many of the vessel's numerous advances as possible into the design of new ships, including the recently refit Intrepid Class. The USS Frontier was one of the first ships to be completed which incorporates those innovative designs.
I am Ambassador Mordred Ocal, an El-Aurian diplomat who was, until very recently, quite content to teach at Starfleet Academy and go on the occasional mission to a new world. Of course, that was until Starfleet requested my assistance on the Frontier. Now I find myself surrounded by, what may very well be, the most intriguing crew I have ever encountered... a Klingon Diplomatic Officer with a rabid pet wolverine, a stubborn Borg and an even more stubborn EMH who insist of making each other's lives miserable, an alien Chef who is never at a loss for words, and several other random officers who spend most of their days trying (unsuccessfully) to keep the ship and themselves out of trouble.
Now, here's where you come in. If you've ever wondered what it would be like to have a character on a Starfleet ship... if you think you've got what it takes to go on long missions, engage enemy vessels, and save the ship from near destruction on a regular basis... or if you're just a really talented writer, we want YOU!
We are always looking for talented, unique characters to interact with (whether officers, civilians, or something else entirely), so please feel free to check out the site, and if you like what you see, consider submitting a formal application. It doesn't matter if you're new to the fray or an experienced simmer... on the USS Frontier, all are welcome :-)
So, I ask you now... can you help us maintain peace and protect the Federation? Are you ready to brave the Final Frontier?

Stardate: 63844.9
Location: Starbase 214
Time: Morning, MD-01
The USS Frontier returns from unexplored space for an officer exchange and a debriefing, only to be sent out to respond to a distress call. Little does the crew realize that they are all in great danger, as they will soon be confronted by their Mirror selves...
Mission Status: Mission Fifteen has just started. Please let me know if you have any questions, otherwise I expect you all to begin posting and doing JPs on your own.

» Nova Update Complete!
Posted on Fri Jul 23rd, 2010 @ 9:13pm by Captain Mordred Ocal in Website Update
Greetings All!
I am pleased to announce that the Nova version of our site is now up and running! In order to log-in and begin using the new site, you will need the temporary site password I have implemented. Please e-mail me (wokgalaxy [at] hotmail {dot} com) to request it, that way I know which of you are reading these news items and which are not.
Since the new site contains a variety of changes from SMS, I would like you all to take a few moments and familiarize yourselves with Nova. If you experience any problems, or have any concerns, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Finally, I would like to update you all on the status of Future Fleets -- the site which will eventually provide additional RPG elements to the USS Frontier simm (and many others). At the moment, we are working very hard to complete work on the preliminary site -- a Simm Database. This small but crucial feature will allow us to advertise our simm and our Open Positions to a much larger community with relative ease.
Once that is complete, we will resume work on the RPG section of the site, which will essentially give everyone the ability to use their character to "interact" with many of the systems and functions you might find on a ship like the Frontier - Operations, Engineering, Navigation, and Tactical, to name a few. Participation in the RPG is purely voluntary, but once it is complete, I would highly recommend you all check in out.
In the meanwhile, please keep an eye on the new site for updates.
Sincerely,
Ambassador Mordred Ocal
Commanding Officer, USS Frontier
» Upgrading to Nova!
Posted on Fri Jul 23rd, 2010 @ 6:04pm by Captain Mordred Ocal in Website Update
Ladies and Gentlemen,
After years of working on the old SMS system, we will finally be upgrading to Nova! So, for the next few hours, I will be working diligently to get this new system up and running, and I will do my best to create a new skin for it as soon as I can.
In the meanwhile, please be patient with me while I complete the necessary upgrades. First, I will need to update SMS to its final version, then I will need to upgrade to Nova. Problems are very likely to arise while I am working, so please do not worry... I have all day to sort them out.
Further, this update will require that each of you reset your passwords. Please wait for an official e-mail from me with your new temporary passwords before you attempt to log-in.
Finally, once the updates are complete, I will be responding to all open JPs and doing my best to get them moving, as a couple seem to have stalled. Please keep in mind that, if you have open posts, have not responded to them within two weeks, and you are not on LOA, you will likely be removed from the crew by month's end.
Thanks for understanding guys!
Sincerely,
Ambassador Mordred Ocal
» Goodbye to an Old Friend

Greetings All!
It is with great sadness that I announce the resignation of Lieutenant John Forest. He has been an incredible asset to the USS Frontier simm and crew since coming here over two years ago, and he will be impossible to replace.
On behalf of the entire crew, I would like to wish him the best in all of his endeavors, and I hope that, one day, our paths will cross again.
Sincerely,
Ambassador Mordred Ocal

Greetings All!
Just a friendly reminder to everyone that there are several JPs in progress which need input right now! If you don't know what to post, please PM me or take some initiative. Otherwise, these posts will continue to stall and I'll have to go back to the wonderful old system of outlining each and every post for everyone :-p
Also, I'd really like to encourage everyone to work on Personal Logs, Mission Posts, and Joint Posts on their own without direction from me. The mission is pretty well outlined, and even if you're not sure what to write, I'm always more than happy to discuss post ideas with you :-)
Hope you've all had a great week! Talk to you soon!
Sincerely,
Aaron

Greetings All!
Just wanted to give you all a heads up regarding a personnel shift that will be happening between now and the start of the next mission. All of these transfers have been requested by the players who are being transfered, and most are because they want to switch to something more comfortable for one reason or another.
--Aa'rion Anwamane will become Interim Marine CO shortly to assist us with this mission while Jett is injured IC. This will alleviate some of the tension between him and Midnight, and will give us a Marine leader for this mission and possibly next while Jett is recovering.
--Doctor Aurus th'Umeryk (or a character from the same player) will become our new Chief Counselor at the start of our next mission.
--Doctor Yoran Russell is going to become our Chief Medical Officer at the start of our next mission.
--Deori Juard is going to continue on his path to Chief Science Officer. It may still be a mission or so before he is promoted, but since Raemet is inelligible for promotion, Islok doesn't want it, and Matthew is an NPC, I think it's only fair that Deori be rewarded for the progress he's been making since originally joining the crew.
If there are any questions or concerns regarding these transfers, please let me know. Otherwise, please keep up the great work! I'm really proud of the progress this mission has made thus far, and I'm really looking forward to seeing where we take things next :-)
Hope you all have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Ambassador Mordred Ocal
